Inverdoorn is a malaria free game reserve near Cape Town, South Africa. It is very uniquely located at the gates of the Karoo, a semi-desert region. This vast and scenic area boasts amazing sunsets and contrasts between lakes, sand, bush and the blue and clear sky.
From Cape Town it is a leisurely 2,5 hour drive through wonderful landscapes with beautiful wine estates. The mountains near Ceres are snow-capped in the winter and provide the dry and arid area of the Karoo with water after melting. Sheep and springbok greet you as you enter the white gate into Inverdoorn Game Reserve.
Directions to Inverdoorn Game Reserve in the Ceres Karoo:
Take the N1 to Worcester and turn off on the R43 (Ceres) just before Worcester. Drive straight through Ceres towards Touwsriver (R46). As you leave Ceres check the speedo 43 km (A-B) tar road after Ceres, then you will get dirt road with Calvinia & Sutherland on the sign board (R356). Continue on this dirt road for 5.7 km (B-C). Take the right turn-off (R356) to Sutherland. Drive 7.4 km (C-D) untill the fork and take go left towards Sutherland. After 6 km (D-Inverdoorn) you will find the game reserve on your left.
Transfers
Transfers from and to Cape Town are available. For a one day safari without staying at Inverdoorn you will be collected from your accommodation in Cape Town around 7:30 am. You arrive at the game lodge at 10am. After your game drive and some relaxing time at the swimming pool you will depart around 3pm and be back in Cape Town at approximately 5:30pm.
If you chose the option of an overnight safari you will be picked up in Cape Town about 9:30 and arrive at Inverdoorn at 12pm. The evening game drive starts at 4:30pm. The next morning you go on an early morning safari and depart the lodge around 10:30. You will reach Cape Town around 1pm.
